About me
I’m Nives, a photographer drawn to minimalism.
I mainly work with portraits, but I’m also inspired by animals and nature. I focus on simple compositions that leave space for the subject to breathe. Stillness, natural light, and the soft light of sunrise and sunset shape my work.
I studied photography in Slovenia, where I developed both my technical skills and my way of telling stories through images.
My work is calm and intuitive, creating photographs that feel honest, subtle, and lasting.
I mostly work outdoors, but I also offer studio style photoshoots using professional equipment in the comfort of your home.
I’m also an EU-certified drone pilot, available for aerial photography when required.
How I work
Before the photoshoot, we first meet for a coffee and get to know each other and make a plan.
This helps the session feel more relaxed and less awkward.
I work in a simple and calm way. I don’t talk much.
I observe movement, and even when a pose is planned, I photograph the moments in between where expressions soften and gestures feel more natural.
Each session is slow and relaxed. I’m not driven by time. Whether we need one hour or two doesn’t matter. What matters is that you feel safe, heard, and calm.
I don’t use rigid posing or constant direction. I guide gently when needed and step back when something natural is happening. This helps create portraits that feel real rather than performed.
Natural light and minimal environments are important in my work. By removing distractions, I focus on presence, expression, and emotion.
My goal is to create images that feel calm, timeless, and true to the person in front of the camera.
